hollywood

New segment folks. Each week (ok, that might be a lie. Once a week sounds like a lot of work on my end. Let’s not put any expectations on this segment, it’s too soon.) I will take some time to remember great but also forgotten characters from cinema as well as television. So here it is the first Forgotten Great Character of the New Year.

Name: Hollywood Montrose (yes, it is an awesome name)
Movie/TV Show: Mannequin - the 1987 movie starring Andrew McCarthy, James Spader, Kim Cattrell.
Occupation: Mannequin/Store Front Window Artist
Played by: Meshach Taylor who also starred in Designing Women
Notes: I always thought this was a great ’80s plot line and plus, the best part was that they made it seem like dressing up these mannequins in store fronts could really make or break the success of their mall. Oh, if you aren’t aware of the plot line, I should mention that Andrew McCarthy’s character falls in love with a mannequin that comes to life only at night. Yup, life imitates art alright.
